The fight for autumn: Aki no Tamashii & Conclusion

The final convention of this year, Aki no Tamashii!

Written on 10/24/2011 by Patrick Bregman

The last convention in the Netherlands this autumn (or actually this winter) will be Aki no Tamashii. There is very little information available, except that tickets will be a whopping €15 (as seen today, October 24th, 2011). This is more than double the price of the MGC Experience, and also more than Nishicon. I surely hope they expanded on what they had last year, because that was a bit boring for the "average" convention goer, though I can surely see that it was an awesome thing for people interested in the lectures they had. Besides that, there were also a lot of Japanese people selling food and original Japanese things.

But, that's all in the past. I have absolutely no information about what they're going to do this time, apart from what's on the site. And what's on their site now looks like a standard anime convention. I can't say if I would advise to go there or not, since the costs are a bit high, but it surely was fun last year. I think it would be wise to go with a few friends so at least you won't be alone if you don't like it that much. But hey, that's something that's true for all conventions.

Conclusion

All in all this autumn is going to be full of all kinds of events. We start with the very small MGC Experience for at most 350 people, then Nishicon which is already a lot bigger, and then we conclude with Aki no Tamashii. This is way better than the last years where there was practically nothing to do after Abunai! (at the end of August), and also better than last year where we only had Aki no Tamashii in the beginning of November.

Personally, I'll be going to all conventions just to see what they're like. And, of course, so I can tell all of you what I thought of them :) I hope to see you there!
