This week's photo - week 50 of 2011

Since I kinda suck at writing blogposts with some kind of storyline in them. I can only do them when I have a story in my mind which I can write down in one go. If I'm interrupted in any way I mostly lose my train of thought and can't get back into the story. That's why I decided to try something new.

I have a fancy Nikon D90 camera and I want to learn how to use it. I also have this blog which is kinda dead. Why not combine two things I want, and make a weekly post with the best photo of that week. Of course I will not simply dump a photo and let it be, there will be a nice little story about it to tell you what it is and why I thought it was the best picture of that week. And, and this might be the nicest thing, I will upload it to Flickr under the Creative Commons Attribution-NonCommercial-ShareAlike 2.0 license, so you can reuse it in any way you want. All that you need to do is credit me if you reuse it. The downside is that it, by default, doesn't allow commercial reuse, but if you want that, just drop me a line (see the CV tab for my e-mail).

My best photo of week 50, 2011

This photo was shot while in the tram back home on Sunday December 18, 2011. I was actually a bit too late, since I wanted to take the shot while in the middle of the road. What you see is a road that's still wet from all the wet snow that fell during that evening. This makes all the lights from the cars and lampposts. In the middle there is some weird stroke of light, it kinda looks like haze or water/snow that's blown off from something, but there is nothing there. It might just be something that was on the window of the tram, but that's kinda unlikely since I had my lens flush against the window.
