Uwabaki

While I was on a search for Japanese school shoes (the outside type, mostly brown), as seen in a number of anime, for my cosplay I found the site Passing-Fancy.com. While they did have the shoes I was looking for, I found something even better, namely uwabaki. These are the kind of shoes you see inside schools in Japan. Since I already found the shoes I was originally looking for at a local shoe discounter, I decided to order a pair of those uwabaki.

While in most anime you see them with a single band crossing your feet, I decided to go with a triangle band style. Why? I have no idea. They are all available in the same sizes and colors, so I think I just liked the triangle instead of the simple band.

I intend to wear those at the various Dutch cons that are coming up, so if you want to see them in real-life, you only have to visit a Dutch convention and find me there.

UPDATE Apparently they were lost in transit, since they still haven't arrived. Passing Fancy told me that they will ship a new pair to me and that it should be here in a week. That is a bit late for atsusacon, but still perfectly on time for Abunai!, and that's what I planned them for.

Well, since this is a relatively short post, let me conclude by posting a picture straight from their site. These are actually the ones that I ordered, so you will probably see pictures by me as soon as I receive them.
