Abunai! schedule as a Google Calendar
A Google Calendar with all the Abunai! 2011 events
Written on 08/25/2011 by Patrick Bregman
Last year I made a set of Google Calendars for Abunai! 2010. Those where used by some, although not everyone updated them to the latest version the day before the con. The primary reason for stuff changing was the fact that Abunai! themselves changed a thing or two in the schedule. This year the schedule was online a lot later (I believe it went online the weekend before Abunai!) so I doubt that it'll change now.
So, with that idea in my head, I started to make another Google Calendar for Abunai!. I reused a lot of last years calendars (otherwise my Google Calendar account goes crazy with con calendars) so if you still have those linked in your account, you may already have noticed that they were updated this evening. But, before linking to the calendars, I would give a huge thank you! to my friend Jan Willem de Groot for helping me out with filling all the little details in the calendar. This basically means that the calendars now also contain extra data (the description of Abunai!) next to the name and location of the events.
And now, I present to you, the calendars!

Using the links above you can add the calendars to your own calendar application (e.g. Microsoft Outlook, iCal) or directly to your mobile phone. For Android devices it should be as easy as adding the calendar to your Google Calendar account and wait for your device to synchronize it's calendar. For other devices, it takes a bit more work. The easiest way for every supported device is to use Google Sync after adding the calendar to your list of Google Calendars.
How to add the calendar to your Google Calendar?
To do this, first logon to your Google Calendar account on calendar.google.com. Now you should see a block titled Other calendars on the bottom left of the screen, and next to it a little arrow pointing downwards. Click that, and select Add by URL. Enter the URL of the iCal links above and you're set. If you have Google Sync set up and working, that's it for you!
If Google Sync does not work for you, things are about to get ugly. I suggest that you try it for yourself and look on Google if it doesn't work. If you still can't get it to work, drop a comment below and I'll see what I can do. Unfortunately, I do not have an iPhone, BlackBerry, Android, WebOS or Bada device here, so I don't know how much help I can be.
