The fight for the autumn
A lot of new conventions this autumn, what will happen?
Written on 09/18/2011 by Patrick Bregman
So, here in the Netherlands it's clearly autumn again when you look at the weather. Until two years ago that would have meant that the convention season was over until Tsunacon in the first month or 2 in the next year. But starting last year, conventions started popping up after Abunai! ("traditionally" the last convention of the year, and still the last big convention of the year). Last year it was Aki no Tamashii or Spirit of Autumn (old link/information at the time of writing).
This year, we have two new contestants for the spot of the convention of the autumn, namely:
- MGC Experience - Which has a very slick website with just about all the information you would need.
- Nishicon - Which is improved a lot over the previous version, and also lists just about everything
Besides those two, there is also going to be another Aki no Tamashii, but information regarding that is very scarce at this moment. Even the date is not quite obvious, though I did find that it will be held on the 10th of December. This info is coming from the homepage of the Go Centre.
In the coming days I'll elaborate a bit more about what each con is offering and why you should or shouldn't visit it. The last basically boils down to if it's worth the price in my opinion. So, be sure to subscribe to my Twitter or RSS feed to stay up to date. The links are in the top-left corner of the page.
